Creative Destruction

Chris Zook in his HBR blog ‘Creative Destruction‘ says that creative destruction is destroying more than it is creating.

Unfortunately he is talking only about the destruction of wealth for the investors, and for him that seems to be the only criterion for measuring the creativity or impact of an organization. Is this not what is leading to skewed state of affairs in the world when the rest of the world is working towards maximizing wealth for a small set of investors.

Have we all got myopic and can not see beyond a quarter or a year and we are unable to see in the long term? Are we refusing to see the period of transformation where the so called investors and their million analysts need to be patient.

No wonder most companies advised by the management consultants are going through crisis and the real innovators are doing good without them.
